I was born and raised in the NW suburbs of Chicago, IL and currently reside in a wonderful little early 20th century home in the beautiful city of Portland, OR. My love for wrestling started as a kid, sneaking over to my neighbors house and watching old VHS tapes (what's that!?) of NWA and Mid-South Wrestling; my parents forbid me from watching "violent" television until I was a teenager.
The moment that hooked me forever came two weeks after my seventh birthday, while watching WCW's Souled Out pay-per-view. Eddie Guerrero and Sean Waltman - wrestling as Syxx at the time - put on the first ladder match I had ever seen. I had no clue such a concept even existed! I went home immediately after that match, not even bothering to stay for Hollywood Hogan's title match (he bored me), booted up the old Windows 97 with AOL internet and learned everything I possibly could about Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon, Bret Hart and the ladder match. Two nights later - Souled Out was on a Saturday - I watched WCW Nitro live for the very first time, and I never looked back.
