Mike Killam has been a member of the Wrestlezone news writing and editorial staff since 2011. He first started watching professional wrestling in 1997, hooked immediately upon seeing a ladder match between X-Pac and the late, great Eddie Guerrero.
Mike is a native of the great state of Illinois, residing an hour outside of Chicago for the first 23 years of his life (aside from that brief year in Michigan we don't talk about). He relocated cross-country to Portland, OR in 2012, where he lives with good friends, a few animals, and works on the side at a local restaurant.
Mike attended community college in Illinois before transferring to the beautiful Spring Arbor University campus in central Michigan for Youth Ministry education, with a minor in English. It was there he began questioning the meaning of life and religion, studying Existentialism, and would eventually drop out to became a wholly apathetic agnostic. Consequentially, it was also around this time that he began working for Wrestlezone. I'm not saying wrestling leads to total and utter nihilism, but...
In his free time, Mike is a major cinephile (a movie buff, you weirdo) and enjoys spending days at local theaters, exploring the strange city of Portland, consuming Pacific Northwest alcohol and blocking people on Twitter.
His favorite wrestlers include some of the best promo workers of all time, including Mick Foley, Eddie Guerrero, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, Dusty Rhodes and CM Punk.
