When I think of Bound For Glory, I think of Kurt Angle vs. Sting in 2007, and the amazing card that was put on in 2009. I think of names like Hulk Hogan, AJ Styles, Ric Flair, Samoa Joe, Beer Money and so much more. However, in recent years it’s impossible to deny that Impact Wrestling has gone through a slump. I truly believe in 2018 that has all changed and they are quickly rising like a phoenix back to the top of the alternative wrestling scene. With this year’s Bound For Glory, you won’t see a lot of legendary names, but you will see the fire and the hunger from competitors that made Impact Wrestling must see in the very beginning. And I’ve been watching from the very beginning I started watching TNA Wrestling back in 2002 and I’m so excited to see them the resurgence that they’re having. So, please join me for my Bound For Glory 2018 preview.

Allie Goes To The Realm Of The Undead

So this seems to me like it’s going to be a Final Deletion like segment. Allie has taken a brief walk on the dark side before, and now she’s gone to the help of Father James Mitchell who assisted her in getting into the realm of the undead for the purpose of saving her friend Kiera Hogan. I understand that a lot of people might see this and think “oh God, same old Impact,” but I’m willing to give it a chance because of the players involved here. Su Yung, in her role as the undead bride, is tremendous. I expect to see a lot of twists and turns. I don’t know if we’ll get an actual match here but I enjoy a little bit of supernatural on my wrestling program every now and again.

Winner: Allie Saves Kiera Hogan

Eli Drake’s Open Challenge

The man who went into the last Bound for Glory as the world champion goes into this year’s event with an open challenge. Obviously, the big question here is who will answer it. I’m sorely tempted to suggest a New York-based performer like Tommy Dreamer or even a Trent Barretta. I also think that this would be a cool place to introduce somebody new like a Brian Pillman Jr., however, if I had to put money on it, I’m going to suggest they go with an old favorite. Therefore I think it will be Low Ki making his return to Impact. Ki is from the area and I’m sure it would get a pop in Queens. Regardless of who answers the challenge, I’m pretty sure they will win.

Winner: Eli Drake’s Opponent

Matt Sydal and Ethan Page vs. Rich Swann and Willie Mack

What a cool grab for Impact to get Willie Mack. Mack is fresh off of an NWA World Championship Match against Cody and is legit one of the most charismatic stars currently in the business. I don’t expect too much groundbreaking stuff here but I do expect a very fun tag match and I think Swann and Willie Mack get the win and bring some fresh life into the tag team division.

Winners: Rich Swann and Willie Mack

Moose vs. Eddie Edwards

I was sorely tempted to put this match in the latter half of my preview because of its close association with the World Championship match. To be honest, one of my biggest surprises coming into the show from the last pay-per-view, Slammiversary, is that Eddie Edwards is not in the World Championship match. The story of this match is one of betrayal, Moose betrayed Eddie Edwards and sided with Austin Aries, but that doesn’t bother Eddie he has Kenny the kendo stick with him and that’s all he needs. I was fortunate enough to be able to talk to both of these men prior to the Slammiversary pay-per-view and both seemed very excited to be at the forefront of the Impact Wrestling resurgence and I’m willing to bet that passion will show itself in this match. However, I think Eddie Edwards is more of the money player going forward so I think he picks up the win with a little assistance from Kenny.

Winner: Eddie Edwards
