2011 WWE Draft – Exclusive In-Depth Analysis, Pt. 2

Sheamus Leaves Raw

Will Sheamus take the US Title back to Smackdown?

Cash: It would make sense if Wade Barrett trades places with the Intercontinental Championship.  However, I don’t think Sheamus leaves at this point.  He’s built his momentum back on Raw and he should continue it on Raw. He may end up losing the title back to Daniel Bryan at the pay per view or Barrett could always lose the IC title before the draft, but I think Sheamus stays on Monday nights.

Personally, I see Daniel Bryan moving over to Smackdown.  They’ve had a very lengthy undercard feud and I think it’s time to split them up.  With Smackdown being more of the "wrestling" show, Bryan fits that setting much better.

LaBar: I agree with leaving Sheamus on Raw. I think when it comes to guys like Sheamus, because he is fitting in both main event and mid-card feuds, it is good to keep him where he is on RAW. Let him continue to hold the U.S. title but if it comes to where you want to reshuffle things in the main event picture after SummerSlam, he can step in and become a challenger again.

Its obvious that in this draft Smackdown needs help, but the WWE has to make sure they don’t strip RAW of too much talent.

Paglino: Ya, Sheamus to Smackdown is a bad idea. He’s a top talent that just went through a terrible, momentum crushing losing streak angle, and he needs all the help he can get right now to build him back up a credible top guy. Making a move to Smackdown is not going to help his case. You can’t go from Champion to challenger to guy who can’t win a single match, and then expect a move to Smackdown is somehow going to look like a step up.

Besides, Sheamus isn’t "finished" on Raw yet, and there’s still plenty of talent for him to work with on Monday nights. Once he climbs that hill and back on top where he should be, then maybe he can have the freedom to take his talents to Smackdown.
