WrestleMania Dairy: Part 3

Quick Thoughts:

The Elimination Chamber and the 2/21/11 edition of Raw

Elimination Chamber was predictable. Get over it. Yes I realize that 2011 has been a year of surprises and excitement. Diesel and Booker T returned at the Rumble. A young, confident, and cocky Alberto del Rio won his chance to compete at WrestleMania. And most importantly the Rock…has come back…home. But I have heard nothing but whining over the Chamber. The facts are: John Cena is going to headline Mania because he is money, and he is the only man capable of turning the Miz into a huge draw in the future. The King didn’t win the title because you don’t interrupt a title reign six weeks before WrestleMania so a legend can scratch one more thing off his bucket list. If you want to make Lawler champion, do it at Extreme Rules and spare us from one more year of a duplicated PPV card. Edge retained because nobody else has enough drawing power to hold the title going into WrestleMania. And that’s that. There’s still time for a Rock/Cena showdown in the future if the Great One stays with us.

On that note, I am loving the Rock’s return and all that it has caused. Miz is on top of his game, and John Cena ripped PG a new one with the return of the Dr. of Thuganomics. The Rock has made Raw into must-see-TV, and there’s no doubt that I’m glad he’s back. It’s amazing how a few comments made by the Great One have turned John Cena, the Miz, and most importantly Michael Cole into compelling characters whose roles I can’t wait to see played out in the coming weeks… But Rocky isn’t going to be around forever, and the wheels need to keep on turning even while he graces us with his presence. I’m actually really enjoying Smackdown right now because they are forced to continue building their talent. Unlike Raw, they can’t coast by on big name returns…

Speaking of which, any let down caused by the return of the Undertaker and Triple H this past Monday is our own fault. It’s become clear that the WWE never had any plans to give us Sting, and the rumor was completely based on fan speculation. We were the ones who fanned the flames and it’s our fault if we feel incredibly cheated by the results. That aside, Triple H vs. Undertaker doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, but it’ll be an epic feud and a great match I’m sure. Triple H still has 6 weeks to kill any momentum Sheamus has left, and the same goes for Taker and Wade Barrett.  Or they could just ignore the whole thing. While you’re at it let’s bring in Vince McMahon as the Raw GM and forget that he was “in a coma” for the past 9 months. Why the hell not…

Also, is John Cena now a four time tag team champion? You have to feel bad for the Usos… Somewhere in heaven there’s a television broadcasting WWE, and Road Warrior Hawk is shaking his head in disgust. #IWantWrestling
