Maybe Wade Barrett is the Man to End the Streak

If you wanted to end the streak, it always had to be somebody who could gain from it. I always used to think it could  be CM Punk – and it still could be if the Cena feud ends sooner rather than later and Taker going after the newly formed Nexus. Another who now fits the bill is Sheamus.

Orton wouldn’t be any the better off ending it, and neither would Cena. Triple H? Lets not go there. The beauty of a match between Undertaker and any of these three is that people would buy into the fact that the streak could end. But the risks involved in having to pull the match due to injury, and the lack of pay-off, might not make it worth the risk.

I’m not saying Barrett will end the streak. I’m not even saying anyone should. There is definitely some call for letting the streak live on forever. Maybe it has become too big – maybe nobody is big enough to take the accolade. But if it’s decreed that somebody should, I think Wade Barrett fits the bill.
