The RAW Ladder – No Matches, Just Run-Ins

Everything furthered an angle, but how about a match? Nexus isn’t going to save the show every week, and they shouldn’t be expected to. I know WWE gets a little lazy in the spring, but we are building up towards Summerslam and there should be more going on than talking.  What happened to Jericho/Bourne? That has been fun to watch and it was mostly kept in ring, save for Jericho coming down with a mic, and Jericho is helping Bourne get over.

There were a few bright spots in the night, so don’t think I am going to crap all over the ‘E this week. I liked Sheamus going over Mark Henry, and I liked that it wasn’t a squash. Sheamus fought his way to victory, and earned the win. This is how he should have been booked during his first title reign. I know Henry isn’t going to get a major push anytime soon, but he is being used the right way now. He can lose and still look like a threat because of his size; he hasnt won a big match in a while and Sheamus still wanted no part.

They could have done this with a few times throughout the show but we got promofest instead. The women’s tag match could have benefitted from a little more time. (I can find something positive about the division… I’ll convince myself.) They probably would be more fun to watch if they got some more time instead of getting four minutes a week. Maryse and Gail are already established, and Eve is very popular with the fans and gets better every week. Alicia Fox is the Divas Champion and they should be giving her more in ring time to put her over. They could have a much better division if they spent more time giving them matches, but they won’t.

The last thing I want to mention before I get to the "movers and shakers" of the week, is what an anti-climatic match ending to the main event! They redeem themselves a little bit by giving us an eight minute (or so) match, and Randy Orton just tags in, hits the RKO and it’s over? I would have liked to have seen more, considering RAW goes past 11pm all the time. They put over MITB and the participants, but the match ending was a little abrupt.
