The RAW Ladder – It’s A New Day

Moved Down – Guest Hosts (Buzz Aldrin)

The guest host concept has been met with a mixed reaction but it has gained a lot of publicity for the WWE. When it started there were hosts that served a purpose (Stone Cold Steve Austin), there for a cause (Nancy O’Dell) or at least knew about the product. (Shaquille O’Neal) But it seems like the longer it goes on, the more careless the selections are, and the more careless the hosts are about caring about the show. Everyone knows they are there to plug something, but it’s hard to tell what that is, and it sounds fake when the host of that week talks like they are doing this for the first time, or don’t get the names right.

I don’t know why Wayne Brady was there last week, and I don’t know why Buzz Aldrin was on this week. Was he promoting his iPhone App, or the space program, because he did a bad job at both. I know he is older but he came off as incoherent and got a subpar reaction. (Kind of like Dennis Miller, but at least Miller had a charity he was trying to help.) For every Jon Heder or Jesse Ventura, there’s been a  MacGruber and Jeremy Piven (Summerfest?) WWE should cast better hosts, or at least try and target some non wrestlers who their PG audience would know.
