Nick’s 1/11 Raw Review: The Good, The Bad, & The Wrestling

I thought Mike Tyson did a reasonably good job last night. The guy has never been known for his ability to talk, so I don’t think many people were too upset or surprised to see him sluggish on the mic last night. Instead, it was good to see a personality on Raw that seems to fit the WWE mold. Tyson is a fighter, but more importantly, he ‘s a larger than life character, so he meshes well with WWE’s product.

It was also fun seeing him get in the ring with DX and Jericho last night, and I liked that WWE made sure that creative didn’t have HBK acknowledge his past with Bret Hart last week, only to ignore it with Tyson this week. Yes, the ending was pretty predictable, as WWE simply mirrored what happened with Tyson and Stone Cold 12 years ago, but it was a fun main event nonetheless as it accomplished several things. It gave Tyson a reason to step into the ring, it gave Jericho a reason to be on Raw yet again, and it used nostalgia to its fullest as it was used last week on Raw with Bret Hart.
