Bret “The Permanent GM” Hart?!

Justin LaBar

You can never run out of names who are celebrities. You can get tired of tuning into a professional wrestling show to see what face of randomness is going to play the imaginary host. It grabbed some mainstream attention and was interesting at the start, but to steal a line from TNA, “Its time for a change.”

Who would be standing in a WWE ring promoting whatever project they currently had going on was something different to look forward to each week, but I think its ran its course. Ironically, the WWE could have kept it going for at least a few more months, until they made a wrestling dream come true for many fans. The dream of seeing Bret Hart back on WWE television.

At the end of RAW, I had never found myself wishing to have that particular guest host be the host again the following week. It may have been an entertaining show, but I didn’t need to see it again. When RAW went off the air after Hart had been kicked by McMahon, I want to see Hart back in charge  for the coming weeks. The buzz surrounding Hart’s return to WWE and the highest ratings since the summer proves that I am not the only one that would want to see Bret in charge each week.

The WWE has guests booked for RAW in the month of January, but Bret could easily be inserted as a permanent GM after the Royal Rumble. He isn’t going to be an active wrestler so it would be the most logical way to keep him involved in programming. If the board of directors or some decision came down in the storyline that Bret was to be the new GM, it would be another good aspect of the McMahon/Hart feud.

If you eat nothing but frozen dinners than that is all you know, but the moment you get that authentic gourmet meal, you don’t want to go back to a frozen dinner. The guests host were the frozen dinner. Bret Hart was the authentic host that many people care about and have memories of.
