Batista vs Rey Mysterio: As we reported here on the site this morning, Rey Mysterio’s knee is once again in bad shape and he is apparently in need of another surgery. This might explain why the match between him and Batista was kept short last night. And to be honest, the length of the match was the only problem I had with it. Both guys worked hard, I totally buy Batista more as a heel than a face, and the post-match beat down was well done. But for all the great hype this match had heading into the event last night, the bout seemed to fall flat as both wrestlers simply were not given enough time to work the match the two of them had the potential to work. I can forgive WWE if Rey was indeed hurt and could not work much more than that, and I applaud the post-match Mysterio mauling as it made up for a lackluster bout, but in the end I hope that when Rey returns, and is at 100% (if that day will ever exist considering his bad knee) these two can go out there and tear the house down. 5 Stars.
