Title This: Impact Wrestling 8/25/11 Reaction

In Ring Segment Review:

Styles comes to the ring and has an answer for Christopher Daniels. Daniels says he is not mad and wants to know his answer. AJ does not know why Daniels wants the rematch so badly. Daniels says he needs to know if he still has what it takes. Daniels is scared because he doesn’t know the answer to his question; does he have what it takes to compete at the top still? AJ agrees because they are friends. AJ wants Daniels next week, not at Bound For Glory. Daniels agrees and leaves the ring.

Reaction:

I cannot wait until next week to see how they perform. Two great in ring competitors who will shine together again. Good in ring talk, and it came off as real life, not something they were booked to say. Well done, segment gets a B+.

Bound For Glory Series Match: No DQ, Falls Count Anywhere                                 AJ Styles and Beer Money vs. Bully Ray, Gunner, and Scott Steiner Review

AJ and Beer Money rush after Immortal before the bell, throwing them into the barricades. Steiner grapples Roode and throws him into the rail. Gunner and AJ are in the ring at this point. AJ hits a dropkick, but Steiner enters and breaks up the count with a suplex on Styles. All of the men get in the ring, as chaos breaks loose. Beer Money works perfectly in snyc as a tag team, with a double suplex. The match goes outside the ring, as Steiner tries to hit Roode with a chair. We see them outside with garbage cans and chair. Gunner throws steel lockers onto Storm. AJ and Ray are in the ring, as Gunner makes his way back. AJ is all alone as Beer Money was taken out. He gets attacked and Bully Ray hits a Bubba Bomb for the win. After the match, we see Mr. Anderson make his return driving a Hummer out to the arena. Anderson goes after Immortal, and busts open Gunner with a steel chain. He takes out Steiner and Gunner, and shows Bully Ray what he is in for.

Reaction:

The match was a 2000 hardcore match, which we have not seen in a while. I did not mind it, the outside interaction and the chaos that was brought upon these guys. Good to see their storyline continue as Bully Ray still gets his push in the company. The ending was perfect, a scene in a movie really. A gang about to pounce on one guy. Styles looked good, but I felt Gunner seemed out of place at times with the type of match they had. Anderson returning was good to see as well, as he targets Bully Ray. It was unintelligent to have him take out both men, when we just saw your best tag team and Styles not able to, but a guy like Anderson can? Does not seem realistic, but I know what they are trying to show. This segment gets a C+
