What’s Bothering Me? (In Professional Wrestling)

Thanksgiving is now over and it's time to get back to my usual dose of pessimism in this week's "What's Bothering Me" feature. If you have something bothering you, be sure to email me at wzchriscash@yahoo.com and I'll be sure to include some of them in a future edition.

Let's get started:

#4. TNA Starts Censoring

Impact WrestlingMaybe it's actually Spike that made the call to "bleep" every other word during TNA promos on Thursday, but the fact it felt like every other word is what bothers me. Is this a permanent thing going forward now or was it just the Thanksgiving broadcast?

TNA has always gotten away with allowing swearing during promos and they try to use it as some sort of positive difference between them and WWE. I never quite understood that.

Often it seems forced and overused, almost like a "just because we can" statement of some kind. Whether it's Ken Anderson's "Asshole" gimmick or Karen Jarrett's use of the word "bitch" each week, TNA always loves to flaunt the fact they aren't censored…or PG. I'm sure it has sold a TON of pay per views as a result.

The biggest issue I have with all of this is if TNA knew they were going to be censored this week (and they had to have known), why did they still use the vulgarity as much as they did? To me, it caused unneccessary distractions and took away from the promos being delivered.

I don't care if Spike is planning on censoring TNA all the time now or not, but "TNA" needs to react accordingly when they do.
