DANIEL BRYAN/MARK HENRY

Another Step Up

Mark HenryWe were all wondering how they would handle Daniel Bryan on Tuesday's live edition of Smackdown and I think they did the best they could with it. Even before that, I enjoyed DB's interaction with Michael Cole on Raw. I'm not a huge fan of Daniel Bryan on the mic, but he is capable of good moments when he's getting the rub from a good heel counterpart.

Monday set up Bryan's title match with Henry very well and certainly had me excited to watch the following night. Mark Madden wrote that it was impossible for both men to gain from their cage match on Smackdown and I think that point was proven wrong.

My biggest question of whether or not fans would continue to support Daniel Bryan as much as they popped for his almost-win the previous week on Smackdown was answered Tuesday. It seems the WWE Universe will in fact support his chase for the World Heavyweight Championship in full.

If that's the case, I think going back to the original plan of him vowing to cash in at next year's WrestleMania would be best. There would be no greater stage for a modern "David vs. Goliath" story to unfold. That would clearly mean Mark Henry remains Champion until then.

Hard to imagine WWE sticking with Henry that long. Of course, crazier things have happened. For instance, check me out getting excited about DANIEL BRYAN period.
