Josh Isenberg

Austin Aries and Zema Ion def. Alex Shelley and Shannon Moore:

What I Liked:

Four very great X-Division talents here facing off. The pairing is different, which I enjoy.Very clever to have Ion steal the win from Aries, since Aries would not benefit from a victory. I feel like Shelley is still on top to face Aries, but having another opponent is always smart in a creative aspect. The match was solid, nothing fantastic, but I did enjoy the ring work from Ion and Shelley. You pin Moore because he is the more irrelavent of the four.

What I Disliked:

I only have a problem with Shannon Moore is because we rarely see him. He is rarely used, and there are other talents that could use this spot. Ever since Ink Inc. disbanded, he is being left with what harmed him in the WWE. He has nowhere to go right now, and that is unfortunate due to the talent he has in the ring. The match needed more time, needed more back story. It felt like they threw these guys together just to see if it would work. It was just average to me.

Madison Rayne wins the Knockouts Battle Royal to become Number 1 Contender:

What I Liked:

ODB took control and eliminated a few Knockouts. She is the "powerful" female in the match, so it was fitting for her to eliminate the weaker Knockouts. Velvet Sky looked good in the match, hitting a nice double clothesline followed up by some offense attacks. She was spotlighted just enough to not fall into obscurity. Madison throwing out Velvet at the end was great to see because Rayne/Gail could set up quite an interesting feud. Two friends who fight always make for a compelling storyline, and TNA knows how to book their Knockouts Division from month to month. They have a bigger idea in place for Rayne.

What I Disliked:

I wish Mickie was more in control here, as she is the most talented. I guess they want to expand their mind and story, so I am okay with them taking a different turn than the norm. Angelina, Velvet, and Madison as the final three should not have been the final. Give Mickie that spot, let a younger Knockout eliminate the veteran. It lacks a proper build.

Eric Bischoff, Gunner, Ric Flair, and a woman come to the ring. Eric says Garret should find another job because he should never step foot in a ring again. They drink champagne and toast one another.

Bully Ray is backstage talking about his match tonight and is upset about having to compete. He will win anyways and go on to Roode.

Eric Young and ODB do a little Valentine's Day segment.
