Cashbox: Taker’s Streak Should End, Have Mick Foley Call You

A Special, Exclusive Offer

I am officially entering a territory I never thought I would. I'm about to mix my personal and professional lives together. Some of you will scoff at what I'm about to write below and others will respectfully decline. Both are fine, but I'm reaching out to the small percentage that might read this, take it for what it is, and act accordingly.

It's worth it to me to try.

Quick backstory: My name is Christopher Cash Chisum. While most of you know me as "Chris Cash", a writer/reporter on WrestleZone.com and the host of the Voice of Wrestling radio show, pro wrestling is just one of my two passions in life. Singing/entertaining is the other. I have been singing, writing songs, playing guitar and performing since I was six years old and despite the accomplishments I've been lucky to acheive in music thus far, there's one thing I have always wanted to do and haven't had the opportunity to do yet.

My ultimate goal is to write and record an original album.

The project: I started a Kickstarter.com project on Monday to try and raise money for my band's first album. I have until May 5th to raise $7,500 — a number I feel it will take to do the type of album I want to do (all original music) and one I will be proud of in the end. I am exhausting every avenue on a personal and local level (friends, family, fans of my music, community). Now, I am officially reaching out to the wrestling audience for support.

I'm aware most of you won't care about my music or personal goals with it, which is why I'm offering wrestling-specific rewards. I'm reaching out to pro wrestlers I know and have worked with in the past to donate some of their time and services to the cause.

When you visit my Kickstarter page, you'll see a number of rewards available on the right. The ones that begin with "WRESTLING SPECIAL" are intended for you. Right now, there are three levels of support for the wrestling audience:

1. $10 Pledge — this is simply for those of you that are willing to help me, just because. You don't get anything special in return, other than a personal "Thank you!" in a future WZ column and a digital download of three of the songs on the new album. It's a small amount, but it can go a LONG way and it so greatly appreciated.

2. $50 Pledge (Limited to 20) — This level of support gets you a copy of the completed album, plus a personal video and phone call from former WWE and TNA superstar, Billy Gunn. Billy is a good friend of mine and has graciously donated his time to try and help me out. CLICK HERE to view a sample of the video call you'll receive by Gunn.

3. $100 Pledge (Limited to 10) — I reached out to Mick Foley and asked for his help. He selflessly agreed to contribute! The ten people that donate on this level will receive a private phone call from current WWE superstar, Mick Foley. The audio from the call will be recorded and emailed to you in .mp3 format. Of course, you'll also get a copy of the album once it's completed.

I plan on including more wrestling-related rewards soon.

I want to send a huge "Thanks!" out to both Billy Gunn and Mick Foley for helping me with this project. And for those of you reading this that decide to contribute in ANY way, I sincerely appreciate it. Whether you only do it for the exclusive perks I've offered by Foley and Gunn or you do it because I've touched your heart with my sappy story above, it makes no difference to me.

I will do whatever it takes to make this project happen, including subjecting myself to public scrutiny and ridicule by the evil, impossible-to-please-and-impress group of people that call themselves wrestling fans. If it's the difference between making the album or not making the album, bring on the ridicule!!

Again, thank you for supporting my work here on WrestleZone and for those of you that decide to support my work outside of WZ, I can't thank you enough.
