WrestleZone’s Top 10: Overused Talent

Number 9: Zack Ryder

Zack Ryder

One of my favorites to watch and be entertained by, Zack Ryder very much deserves to be on TV each week. He is such a hard worker who had to step out of his boundaries to succeed. When Ryder chased the US Title, he immediately become a viral superstar. Twitter, Youtube, and Facebook gave him his opportunity to shine, and he did. What happens to Ryder now? When Zack is used on television, he is beaten by upper talent, such as Del Rio or Bryan. Ryder is a door mat for them to continue to climb the ladder. Zack is being overused and improperly used each week. He is very similar to Santino in the instance that he can easily become generic if he is exposed too much. Look at his feud with Kane, which went nowhere. He was used, then gone, and then came back and seen in every other segment backstage. Was he an assistant or a wrestler? Pick one, not both. I want to see Ryder on TV each week, but they need to book him intelligently so he continues to sell merchandise and continues to get over with the crowd. Will fans get sick of Ryder? Unfortunately, I can see it happening if he keeps on the path that creative are booking him.
