Douglas Williams def. Sam Shaw

What I Like:

Shaw showed a good amount of athleticism in the match. Williams is more powerful, but Shaw hit a nice progression of moves. He wasted no time in hitting a nice neckbreaker. He has a solid look and also went up top. The bigger story ended up being Joey Ryan punching Al Snow from being in the crowd. I liked how they continue to use Ryan in a different way, and feel that he does have a brighter future than most of the Gut Check guys.

What I Disliked:

We are 40 minutes into the show, and there has not been one good match. Williams is irrelavent and I am getting bored of this Gut Check segment. All of the guys seem to lose, so what is the point? It gets to a point where you wonder why they cannot just use the talent on their roster already.

Chavo Guerrero Joins TNA

What I Liked:

This is a guy who is fit for TNA for multiple reasons. He has the look, the wrestling ability, and the voice of believability. Chavo says he wants to be champion at Impact Wrestling. He did a good job at making us feel like TNA is just as important than WWE, even though we know that is not the case. I like the importance they are trying to put on him. it is a solid start.

What I Disliked:

Kid Kash comes out and bashes Guerrero and his family. I cannot stand Cash, and thought Gunner should have done more talking. We go from Chavo talking about being a champion being interrupted by KID KASH. Seriously? I went from somewhat interested to thinking this is the worst way to debut Chavo. Hernandez comes out and saves Chavo from a beatdown. I liked that pairing, but it puts Chavo on the same level as when he left WWE. He will immediately stick in the mid card. He has always been nothing more than a mid card talent, and TNA is already placing him there. They usually give all former WWE guys a chance at the top, but at least they realize he does not have excellent star power. I love his wrestling ability, his pacing in the ring, but Chavo is Chavo. He is nothing more.
