Dave Batista - One Step Up

I have no clue whether Batista will make a successful transition to MMA or not, but I do have a rare, exclusive interview with him set for later this afternoon. I'll likely post it for everyone to read/hear tomorrow or Tuesday.

I thought Batista was doing his best work in WWE right before he left the company. His size and pure muscle mass was never going to allow him to be a ring general, but his ability on the mic vastly improved toward the end. He was a believable bully.

I hear he's shed some weight in preparation for this fight.

MMA should take advantage of wrestlers wanting to fight more. There's an easy crossover there as Brock Lesnar was able to prove. Dana might not need to do that anymore, but I can only imagine it would help smaller promotions needing publicity.

Batista's fight is Saturday, October 6th at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, RI. You can also watch the event live on DirecTV PPV.
