- Tara is on the phone with her Hollywood boyfriend when Brooke Hogan comes in. She says Tara has to earn her shot. Tara Defeats ODBWhat I Liked: So, the match was pretty decent. You have a veteran in Tara, controlling the match, with a stronger and more physical ODB. ODB really took it to Tara, and she looked to injure her knee. ODB was distracted for just enough time for Tara to grab the victory. Tara started the offense, ODB controlled in the middle, and then Tara finished her off. It is hard to book a Knockout against ODB because of her size, but Tara is believable enough to beat her. What I Disliked: I feel like every heel gets a cheap win. It works for some, but not for others. It did not work for Tara, especially since she needs to "prove" herself. It would be much more logical if she was able to pick up the win in a demanding fashion. Grade: C -Al Snow is getting yelled at about Joey Ryan, and he apologizes. They talk about last week's Gut Check contestant. -Bobby Roode goes into Austin Aries' locker room and says he has a problem, but wants to be civil about it. He talks about beating Jeff Hardy, but cannot beat Aries. He calls him the better man. Samoa Joe Defeats Mr. Anderson To Become The New Television ChampionWhat I Liked: Joe hits a few blows to Anderson, and then connects with a corner splash and a pele kick. He has a great combination of skills, and he was able to use them all against Anderson. The match was alright, with Anderson able to hit a swinging neckbreaker to gain the advantage. Samoa Joe ends up with the victory after a choke hold and Anderson could not gain consciousness. What I Disliked: The course of the match was good, but not great. There was something missing from me. I think the biggest thing that bothered me was there was NO build for any of this. It is a championship. This match should have taken place on the PPV. I understand it is the "television" championship, but it would have been much better to be relevant on a bigger stage. This was thrown together, and the guys did what they could with it. I just simply did not think these two guys work that great together. The pace dragged too much for me to really get excited about it. Grade: C |
