Beth Phoenix Defeats Natalya
What I Liked:
When was the last time we saw these two face one another? I really do not remember. The match itself was what you would expect from two of the better Divas. It was crisp, flowed well from each move, and really showcased the physical aspect with both Divas. Neither are extremely athletic and quick, but they are quick enough to get through a match without any risks. It was a safe match, and I enjoyed it. Natalya locks in a Sharpshooter, and the match really gets interesting from my view. Beth struggles to get to the ropes, fights back, and would ultimately hook Natalya's legs for the win. After, Eve says she is suspended indefinitely for the alledged assault on Kaitlyn.
What I Disliked:
I assume this is the way to write off Beth, since she is gone with the WWE. All I can say is I will definitely miss her professionalism and ability to make ANY Diva look good.
Grade: B
- Backstage, Booker T announces a Tag Team Tournament, with the winner facing Kane and Bryan at Hell in a Cell. Beth comes in upset and wants her suspension reversed, but Booker said he did not have anything to do with it. Eve says she was persuaded by Teddy Long, and Booker T is upset. I feel like this is something that could fire Long, turn him into a manager, and possibly help his career in the WWE. We are all over him as a General Manager role.
Wade Barrett Defeats Zack Ryder
What I Liked:
Barrett dominated from the very beginning. With his return, it looks like they are going to have him squash everyone before he gets to the top. I think his look, his music, and his new attitude is refreshing. No jacket, no rose, and that makes more sense to me. He hits a great pumphandle slam, a few boots to Ryder, and hits his finisher for the win. Although I am not huge on his finisher, it does look really good.
What I Disliked:
What was Wade's promo about "being in business?" I am still waiting for something impactful from him, but we have yet to see it. We know his skills in the ring, but let's do something more quickly. The main event needs a fresh face, and he is just the guy to do it.
