Impact WrestlingThe Undercard

Wes Brisco defeated Garrett Bischoff. It is open fight night, and once again Gut Check returns. I actually am interested in seeing the development of Wes Brisco. With the pedigree, he has the potential to be something great. With the start in TNA, he can develop himself into somewhat of an internet fan favorite. The match lasted less than 5 minutes, but Brisco showed just enough athleticism and strength to be taken seriously. His facial expressions are a little too much, but that wil mature in time.Grade: C+

Chavo defeated Joey Ryan via disqualification. This match had very little to be desired. Ever since Joey Ryan won the contract, he has not really done too much. With his cocky and unique attitude, Ryan is going to be a player in TNA, but his push has been halted completely. Maybe this will be a change, with Ryan and Morgan chasing the tag titles. Haven't we seen too much of Hernandez vs. Morgan in TNA though? I am not sold on this, and would have rather seen more action inside of the ring. Grade: C

Sam Shaw defeated Alex Silva. I am beginning to feel that this night is going to be a little different than the usual. Instead of progressing storylines and superstars that fans want to see, they are giving the young guys a chance. I am indifferent because there has not been a huge match so far, and has only had guys who have yet to prove themselves. Grade: Incomplete

Jeff Hardy defeated Christian York in what I felt like a great performance for York in his first big match in TNA. A guy with an incredible physique, enough athleticism to execute certain moves, and a strength game that really benefits his creativity, York kept up with the World Champion and even got a good bit of offense in. York slowed down Hardy intelligently, including simple submission holds around his neck and upper body. Jeff Hardy made a great comeback, hit Twist of Fate, and finished off with a Swantom Bomb. Great outing and a very fluent match between two men of completely different paths. I really think York can do great things if he cleans up his look and is taken more seriously. He reminds me of a more talented Tyler Reks. Grade: B+
