WWE SmackdownThe Undercard:

Ryback defeated Darren Young in a rather quick match that showcased the power, once again, of Ryback. He should have faced Titus O'Neil instead, as their bodies and pure strength together would have made more sense in terms of developing both men. Young was able to ground the bigger opponent, and really gave a little more of the defensive attacking of Ryback. We know what he can do to control a match, but now is a great time to develop him more. With Young getting the match here, it seems like they are not going to feed Ryback bums anymore. He hits a beautiful Shell Shock onto Titus after the match, and gives Ryback a good feel when not completely focusing on Punk. As for PTP, this does not harm them, especially since they are getting good exposure with the most interesting and dominant star in the WWE. Grade: B+

R-Truth defeated Antonio Cesaro in a non-title match. As I have mentioned before, R-Truth is not the best choice for Cesaro, but Swagger is. Jack needs a good return, something meaningful, and could easily be that "American" that beats Cesaro. Nonetheless, it looks like another month with these two guys, and the match was much quicker than I expected and hoped. They should have been given more time to tell their story through all of their moves, but really rushed from move to move. I did like the finish, with a nice reversal from the Neutralizer and a surprise STO for the victory. Grade: C+

Alberto Del Rio defeated Sin Cara , which was actually enjoyable to watch. What is there to do for Alberto Del Rio now? Since he lost multiple times to Randy Orton, he certainly cannot be in the main event level. This is the right fit for him, staying in his comfort zone with guys who do not have a story. I am sick of the push of Del Rio, and am happy to finally see his character take a back seat to others. The match was exciting, simple (which sometimes is for the best) and let two Mexican stars work magic in the ring. Cara hit a beautiful swinging DDT onto Del Rio, and the flurry of high flying moves continued. Sin would end up getting caught by Del Rio, connecting with multiple strikes to his body, and locking in the submission hold for the victory. It did not need a story, and was a solid match for both men. Grade: B
