Alberto Del RioThe Undercard Page Two

Alberto Del Rio defeated Zack Ryder. Haven't we seen these two men fight over and over and over again on Raw since July? If my counting is correct, this is the fourth time they have fought in recent memory. Thankfully, this was not a squash match and really had great work in the squared circle. Ryder gained much offense in the match, hit a neckbreaker, and was able to clothesline Del Rio to the point where it looked like he could pick up the victory. Ryder hit a Sunset Flip for a close two count, but Del Rio was able to get back on top and hit a few nice kicks to Ryder's face. This was followed with Ryder tapping out for the armbar. This was a solid match, even though there is not a story to follow. I will enjoy the actual wrestling and not judge what Del Rio or Ryder should be doing. Grade: B

Vickie Guerrero defeated AJ Lee. This match had Brad Maddox as a referee, and he screwed AJ out of a victory. I am a Brad Maddox fan because we have not seen his weaknesses. Many criticized his mic work, but I think it was real and honest. He does not need to try too much to be interesting, and that is something that's overlooked. I just do not want to see the continued feud with AJ and Vickie, especially since neither are really getting over as much anymore. Yes, AJ is lovable and lustful, but Vickie is getting played and overdone. Grade: C-

Antonio Cesaro defeated Kofi Kingston. Once again, I can simply sit back and watch some great action inside the ring between the US and Intercontinental Champion. For the first time, I am just as interested in these two mid card talents than I am with the main event guys. That is serious props to an athletic and somewhat dull character in Kingston, as well as a new, fresh, aggressive, and tough Cesaro. I loved the body slam from Cesaro and a double stomp onto Kingston. His ruggedness is showcased through every move he hits. Some guys use moves that do not connect with their character or personality, but that is not the case with Antonio. Kofi did not look weak by any chance, ended up hitting a body splash from the top rope, but would get caught and ended with a Neutralizer. I loved this match because it did wonders for both guys without them looking weaker than the other. I am happy Cesaro got the win as well, and here is to a few good matches at TLC. Grade: A-
