The Main Event
Antonio Cesaro defeated Sheamus via Countout in Smackdown's main event of the night. This was a physical and intense matchup, with both men really putting all of their offense on display. Cesaro continues to improve and impress, and the thing I like about him most is that he is not showing all of his moves at once. Tonight, he hit a great uppercut on the back of Sheamus' head. That is something that may sound so simple, but who else does that? He is booked as a former Rugby player, so his aggressiveness and intensity needs to be hard every single time. Sheamus kept up as well with his physicality, hitting a side slam and multiple chops to his chest. Cesaro looked to pick up the victory via pinfall a few times, but The Great White would always kick out and come back harder. This was a heavyweight bout with much intensity.
The end of the match was the story, with Big Show beating the hell out of William Regal with a chair. We have gotten to the understanding that Regal and Sheamus are boys, so this makes complete sense. Show is trying to toy with the raw emotions of Sheamus, and you can see the expression on his face. If this did anything, it made me want to see these guys beat the hell out of one another with a chair. It is a Chairs Match at WWE TLC, so I assume that WWE got me. I enjoy the storytelling and, even if it's not the brightest or biggest on the marquee, it still draws intrigue to the casual and some hardcore fans. Grade: B+
