Wrestlezone’s Top 10: Superstars of 2012

Number 6: Sheamus

Sheamus

Holding the World Heavyweight Championship for over 3 months is a feat in the WWE these days. After winning the Royal Rumble in January, Sheamus would go on to kick off Wrestlemania with an 18 second victory to claim the World Heayweight Championship. After that day, it would take Sheamus until Hell in a Cell in October, which calculated as 210 days as champion, to end his reign. During this time, Sheamus wrestled excellent matches with the likes of Daniel Bryan, Alberto Del Rio, Big Show, and Rey Mysterio. Many criticize his storylines with opponents, but Sheamus has been a consistent work horse in the WWE. Whether he faces a 500 pounder or a 180 pounder, he continually improves his game and gives it all he has. The work ethic is second to none, and his continued ability to get over with the crowd is impressive. I expect him to go back as a heel in 2013, but 2012 was certainly an impressive year for the Celtic Warrior.
