Stars in Progress: Wade Barrett, The Miz, Jeff Hardy Down

Jeff HardyJeff Hardy – One Step Down

Damn you, Dixie, making a liar out of me.

I just gave some pretty high praise to the TNA president earlier this week, only for her to turn around and let something like this slip through the cracks. Jeff Hardy, the current TNA World Champion is unable to make the trip to the UK and will miss a month of TV as a result. Thank God it's only your world champion, right!?

Maybe this isn't Dixie's fault. I admit the details are scarce, and it's only four weeks, but how could this not be known ahead of time? And if it was, why would they not do something about it?

I agree – preparation is overrated.

As it turns out, the recently reduced pay-per-view schedule is already paying off. Their next major event isn't until March, so four weeks isn't the end of the world as it relates to Creative and TV, but I still find the whole situation puzzling. They either knew about it in advance and decided against him dropping the title, making them crazy, or they didn't know until it was too late, making them incompetent.

Harsh, sure, but this is supposed to be their number one guy. It's a major tour with heavy promotion behind it. It's four weeks of programming. It's during a crucial time of company changes, and coming off the heels of a highly-rated edition of Impact. It's a tough blow, regardless of how you look at it.

Will I feel different if it turns out the injury was/is legit? Probably, a little, but I don't think it is, and you're guilty until proven innocent, right?

On a positive note, I've really enjoyed the Bully-Brooke storyline over the past couple weeks. The wedding could have been an unbearable train wreck, but it wasn't. And Bully Ray is seriously one of my favorite personalities to watch these days.
