RybackRyback/Mark Henry – One Step Up

We saw them hint at a Ryback/Henry feud last night on Raw. It's probably safe to bet they go on and work WrestleMania this year. I'm looking forward to it.

I'm a huge fan of Mark Henry, and he's the type of guy that can still make fans care about a Ryback feud now that he's not in the main event picture. It's a huge step up from him reverting back to meaningless squash matches. Plus, if they are canceling or at least postponing Ryback's feud with The Shield, then he needs a purpose for the big event on April 7th.

Speaking of, I have NO clue why WWE is brushing Ryback's beef with The Shield under the rug, but they certainly seem to be doing it. I assume it's not over completely. Ryback will go work (and beat) Mark Henry at 'Mania, getting his big guy vs big guy "moment", and then he'll probably pick up with the Shield sometime after the fact.

It still blows my mind to think Mark Henry is a serious, credible threat and a bona fied entertainer these days, but I simply love watching him each time out. If he wasn't a dinosaur in the company by the time his stardom finally started to shine through, management would have a true A-List guy on their hands. I don't think they can commit to that level anymore with Henry.

Ryback is just floating along now. He was made to look like a fool by Punk, Maddox, and The Shield. Fans are getting back into the habit of thinking about Goldberg everytime they see him, so he needs something meaningful. And quick.

Fans love the Giant vs Giant story, and WWE can sell this one well. Henry's at the top of his game, Ryback needs a rub for once – they are a perfect match for one another in theory. The match itself might tell a different story, but I'm willing to overlook that, IF they go out there and beat the hell out of one another at 'Mania.
