Carlito Calls Out The "Sheets"
Carlito via Twitter: "Dirt sheets, stop trying to start sh*#% with my tweets! These just f'n jokes! Leave me in the land of irrelevance where Im happy! Thank you"
The tweet above came as a response to "dirt sheets" posting this original tweet by Carlito regarding The Shield: "Just watched RAW, two members of the group need to stop believing in THE SHIELD & start believing in THE GYM!"
Let me start off by saying that Carlito is one of the funnier wrestlers to follow on Twitter. I find him quite hilarious with his dry sense of humor and quick wit. However, when you see him "out of character" (ex: backstage at an indy event), he's actually quite reserved most times. I've always found that interesting for some reason.
Carlito's comments about The Shield are no exception. Funny. It's probably a continuation of his "Body Guy" shtick that he's been playing up for a while now with other former WWE stars that are "jacked". Chris Masters is the most common of those.
I've always liked Carlito, but I like my IWC better and am always first in line to stick up for sites like this when wrestlers try and cut us down. Why are WE the bad guys for posting something YOU said, Carlito?
If a writer is trying to speak on your behalf, inaccurately at that, then you have a right to bitch. However, most times, we simply post your tweet and let readers interpret what it may or may not mean on their own.
If you then, in turn, interpret that as us "trying to start sh*#%", maybe you shouldn't have posted it in the first place. Guilty conscious, perhaps?
You think Sergio Garcia lashed out at the media for posting his questionable comments toward Tiger Woods? He stated — after the fact, of course — that he was just joking as well. I get that racism and fat jokes aren't on the same playing field, but it's the same principle.
I had no problem with Carlito's comment, and took it lightly, just as he claims he intended it to be taken, but don't blame us for any grief you may receive as a result. Simply start using the go-to, guaranteed crutch of "I meant this as a joke!" that we all use, "LOL", a little more often.
