Wrestlezone’s Top 10: WWE Summerslam Pay Per Views

Josh Isenberg

Number 10: Summerslam 2001

Booker T

2001 ws a crazy time in the WWE. With the purchase of WCW, you had new talent inside of a WWE ring. With the combination of already established guys, some WCW products were given a great shot at making a name for themselves. One was Booker T, who faced The Rock in a WCW Championship match. Other matches included Jeff Hardy vs. Rob Van Dam in an excellent Ladder Match that exceeded expectations. Both men were at the prime of their lives, two men who took risks at any given time. The main event saw Stone Cold and Kurt Angle tear the house down in the main event for the WWE Championship. Although this did not end the night, it was the best match by far in terms of a story.  Stone Cold was a heel for the first time, and Kurt Angle was the popular face that the crowd could attach to. Overall, a solid Pay Per View considering all of the pieces that were moving.
