WrestleZone’s Top 10: What We Learned From Night of Champions

Number 9: Night of Champions Only Works When Titles Mean Something

WWE Night of Champions

An old argument. Sounding like a broken record is something that everyone complains about. Night of Champions is an event that sounds like it is EXTREMELY important. When championships aside from the WWE Championship are meaningless, the event feels meaningless. Two championships were not even really announced until the day of the event. The Tag Team Championships were decided 5 minutes before the event began. The Intercontinental Championship means nothing when it is never discussed. The United States Championship has a great heel holding it, but his feud and angle has nothing to do with the title. The World Heavyweight Championship is about as important as WWE Superstars on WWE.com. Watering down your championships will make this event irrelevant. If WWE wants this event to be interesting again, put time and effort into your creative staff. One match will NOT sell an entire Pay-Per-View that focuses on “Champions.”
