CM Punk defeated Dean Ambrose. The match started off very slow. Both men were trying to feel the other one out. We had multiple wrist locks and simplistic offensive moves. Ambrose finally got the better of Punk when Ambrose hits Punk in the mid section and a few elbow drops to the mat. Ambrose's psychology was fantastic. He continued to work on the abs of Punk, not letting him catch his breath. Ambrose locks in a very impressive headlock, but Punk is able to escape it. Punk gets going with a dropkick and a knee to the face. He heads to the top and connects with an elbow drop. The ending comes when both men notch very close 2 counts and then Punk is able hit a GTS for the win. The bigger story was that Ambrose yelled at Reigns and Rollins about beating Punk all by himself. The Shield looks to be a little disoriented, but they help out Ambrose because Reigns planted a spear onto Punk. I liked the tease and planting the seeds for the future. Now, this is the angle that WWE wants heading into WWE TLC.
John Cena and Randy Orton had their last words before the WWE TLC main event. All other World and WWE Champions were in the ring. The belts were put in a crane to lift into the air. Orton talks about how Cena has no more ruthless aggression, while Cena talks about earning what he has gotten. The crowd goes crazy for Daniel Bryan during the entire segment. All hell breaks loose when Orton and Cena begin to exchange blows. Orton and Cena are separated but Orton shoves Punk in the face. HHH throws him on the mat but Punk gets up and punches him in the jaw. HBK takes Punk out with Sweet Chin Music, then Bryan hits him with a running knee and Orton tries to drop him with a RKO. Bryan shoves Orton away and Orton inadvertently knocks Stephanie over, then HHH hits a Pedigree onto the WWE Champion. He goes over and checks on Stephanie, along with Cena and Kane. The Authority and Cena all stand aside from one another and look at Randy Orton. This was bedlam and was fantastic. Now, we know what we have to look forward to on Sunday. Will Triple H somehow get involved in the TLC match? Who will win? Is Cena beginning to align himself with the Authority? So many questions to be answered. I loved this ending that created more than one big moment. It was scripted perfectly.
