WrestleZone’s Pay-Per View Predictions: WWE Elimination Chamber

Big E vs. Jack Swagger for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

Killam on what should happen: Well this match came out of nowhere. I like that they actually held a contender’s match on Smackdown, because it adds more legitimacy to the challenger’s claim. Swagger fought for the right to be in a PPV match, so what little drama they have will be a step above the generic filler title match. Big E should pick up the win here, whether it be via pinfall to keep him dominant, or via disqualification to protect Swagger for some sort of WrestleMania project.

Killam on what will happen: I don’t foresee a world where Big E taps out to anybody, and the Patriot Lock is Swagger’s bread and butter. I think this one ends up being pretty cut and dry. Big E retains. Don’t be surprised of Zeb Colter or Cesaro gives him a hard time about it, and this leads to further problems in the ranks.

Isenberg on what should happen: I can see WWE giving Big E a quick win here, but they shouldn’t. We need to see Big E battle to keep his championship. We have not seen vulnerability in his character since he won the title. Big E should pick up a win in a 10-15 minute match that is between two more important matches.

Isenberg on what will happen: I cannot see a world where Big E loses and there is NO way that he will tap out to Swagger’s Patriot Lock. I can see Zeb Colter distracting Big E to the point where Swagger locks in his finisher, but Big E will reverse it, pull the straps down and hit Big Ending for the win. I would like to see, after tonight, a feud for Big E to carry for five weeks. He has yet to find something personal to connect to and make interesting.
