Stars in Progress: The McMahons Sell RAW, ‘Attitude’ Enthusiasts, Wyatt/Cena Deliver, What Happened To Cody & Goldust?

Cody RhodesCody Rhodes/Goldust – One Step Down

WWE is on the brink of something decent — above average, at least – with their tag division. The Usos, surprisingly to me, have followed up rather nicely since their title win, The Outlaws are still The Outlaws, and Swagger and Cesaro are sticking together until Mania, possibly longer.

I'm aware RybAxel is still a thing too, but I can't count them as a thing to actually care about.

Then, there's Cody Rhodes and Goldust, who have lost nearly all of their momentum since dropping the belts. Why? If you're not splitting them up, why can't they be more involved with The Usos, Outlaws and the other couple of teams in the mix?

They'll likely be thrown into the three-team or four-team tag title match WWE decides to do at WrestleMania 30, but I can't imagine anyone caring that they are. Unless..they use the last two and 1/2 weeks available to really sell Rhodes and Goldust as a worthy team again.

As a huge tag team fan, I've really enjoyed some of the things WWE has done lately. And I absolutely believe Cesaro and Swagger are better off together right now. Beyond 'Mania, I'm aware the chance of the split is pretty high, but I'd keep them together for a good portion of this year if possible. Then, maybe there will be room for a guy like Cesaro to start his singles push.

In the meantime, give us a reason to care about The Usos' defense at 'Mania, and if it's going to include more teams than just The Outlaws, you still have quite a bit of work to do. Specifically with the Rhodes brothers.
