Tyson Kidd & Natalya Resident Advisors In The WWE Dorms

Every Monday and Friday I write a wrestling column for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that can be found online at TribLIVE.com.

The latest I talk about how called on Tyson Kidd & Natalya are for WWE but what do they get in return? The following is an excerpt:

It feels like Tyson Kidd and Natalya are turning into the resident advisors in the WWE dorms.

The married couple has been in WWE since 2007 and in the wrestling business their whole lives. They come from the large family tree of the Hart family, arguably the most famous wrestling family ever. I guess it should come as no surprise they are given the mature big brother and sister roles to their peers.

Kidd has been working consistently on the top of the card in NXT. He’s been the veteran in the mix with the stars of tomorrow for WWE. Kidd has had runs on the main roster, but nothing to the level that equals his talent. There is nothing in the ring he can’t do. Selling people on the mic and having his character explode through the screen has always been his shortcoming, in my opinion.

Nonetheless, his work in NXT can’t go unnoticed. I’m talking both in the ring and the leadership he’s been providing backstage. He’s the right guy to help the new talents. But he’s spending all of his time making them look good and elevating their characters — I fear those characters will continue to get called up taking up spots on the roster, leaving Kidd as a permanent minor league player coach.

His wife Natalya is stocked up on supervising crazy. The reality show cameras documented her having to deal with an aggressive new diva named Summer Rae. That conflict doesn’t seem to be over, or at least not for the cameras.

The new season of Total Divas began last week, and we found out WWE asked Natalya to look after the returning Rosa Mendes.
