Isenberg’s Reaction: WWE Raw Review “A Huge Letdown From Survivor Series”

Daniel Bryan is in Charge Tonight

raw reviewWe find out that Daniel Bryan will be in charge of WWE Raw tonight. This is such a smart business move for WWE for a handful of reasons. First off, Daniel Bryan sells merchandise. With him recovering, his on-screen presence is needed to keep him relevant and hot.

He is a guy that the crowd feeds off of. I am very excited to see him grow and develop on the outside of the ring.

This could be a positive for his recovery. After tonight, will he be around more? This could be a one night thing, but I really hope not.

 Ryback defeated Mark Henry

Ryback and Mark Henry battle in a quick match. Ryback hits a few power moves and then Ryback hits a Meathook Clothesline for the win.

Well, that was pretty quick. A step down for Ryback tonight, as he put on a pretty good week of wrestling. This must be WWE’s way for us to forget that he was first eliminated last night.

Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper

Harper starts early with a side suplex and Ambrose counters by tripping him up and then locking in a few submission holds. Ambrose launches himself with a flying elbow and then a cross body onto the outside. Harper tosses him around the ring and takes control. He hits a kick to the head and another clothesline.  Ambrose hits a few chops and Harper plants Dean face first. Both men head to the outside and Harper throws him into the barricade. Ambrose hits him with a clotheline from out of nowhere.

Dean hits a head butt and then ties Harper in the ropes. He hits a dropkick and then a legdrop for two. Harper catches him and hits a spinning side slam for a two count. Ambrose slides Harper over an attempted powerbomb and he hits Dean with an elbow. Dean heads to the top and drops an elbow. The action picks up and Harper tries to set Dean up for his finisher. He heads to the outside and grabs his title. Ambrose meets him with a Suicide Dive. Harper shoved Ambrose into the official, causing a DQ. He hits a big boot. Ambrose gets to the outside and throws a chair into the ring. He hits Dirty Deeds onto the chair.

Dean Ambrose loses another by disqualification. It does not seem to matter because his antics are more than wins and losses. He needs to thrive in a match with no rules, like TLC. I am still waiting for his “wow” moment, but tonight was a pretty good match. I loved that Bray Wyatt attacked him from behind after the match.  Bray unleashed himself and threw chairs onto Dean. He poses to end a really good 15 minutes of segments.
