Stars in Progress: Seth Rollins Stomps His Way Up, New Day Shines on Main Event; An Unnecessarily Long Rant About Total Divas

STEP UP: Seth Rollins

I was originally against Seth Rollins being inserted into the Lesnar/Cena match at the Royal Rumble, but let’s face it, they would have found a way to stick him in there somehow. At least this way, they remove the temptation of ruining the match by interference.

wwe live event resultsRollins has come so far in such a short period of time. For people that knew and loved him as Tyler Black pre-WWE, that comes as no surprise. The only real “shock” is how fast and furious the WWE machine has gotten behind him.

Raw went off the air with Rollins standing tall over Brock Lesnar and John Cena. If you haven’t been paying attention (and who could blame you?) that’s the current world champion, and the biggest name in pro wrestling. I usually don’t go for the overly scripted WWE produced hype interviews, but Triple H put over Mr. Money in the Bank HUGE in his sit-down with Michael Cole this week. I loved that interview. Even in a scripted, story-driven environment The Game’s opinion of an up-and-comer like Rollins carries weight.

If WWE followed traditional (or intelligent) booking, Rollins would win the title at the Rumble. Is he ready for it? That’s a question I’m sick of asking; nobody on the roster save for a very small handful of guys comes across as real “world champion material”. He is perhaps more ready than Roman Reigns.
