Isenberg Reacts: Impact Wrestling “Hitting All The Right Notes”

More Eric Young and Bobby Roode

impact wrestlingAnother week of Eric Young continuing to make the best out of his heel turn. Bobby Roode and Austin Aries do battle in a really good match, with Roode getting the win. Eric Young using the Piledriver is EXCELLENT. He is definitely a muscular guy, but his height sometimes devalues how strong he actually looks.

EY is continuing to keep his feud going with Roode. It works because of Roode’s credibility with the crowd and Young’s tenure with the company. I was nervous at first to see how Young reacted to this change and the crowd reaction, but he has done a stellar job at being the ticking time bomb and always focusing on Bobby Roode. He keeps it very structured and unpredictable at the same time.

A New Twist in Carter vs. Spud

Tyrus and Ethan Carter picked up a victory over Spud, Mandrews and Jeremy Borash. After the match is the story, where Mr. Anderson came out and stopped them from shaving Spud’s head. Anderson pokes both guys in the eye and gets the better of both men. A new twist is added into the feud with EC3 and Spud. His name is Ken Anderson.

I have been a fan of Anderson for a long time. There is no doubt that Ethan Carter can be the future of this company. It was a love/hate type thing for me tonight, as Carter moves on, kind of, from Spud. There has not been a finality and now he is going to jump to Anderson. I love Anderson because he can sell a feud with his voice.

I really wish that Anderson was used every week and not once or twice a month. His lack of consistency in a feud is what really hurts him. It just does not make sense to me to have a guy like him used so sporadically. If you really want to build something important for Carter, make sure Anderson is seen every week.

Awesome Kong defeated Madison Rayne

Kong hits Rayne with a splash into the corner. She hits a body slam and misses a splash. Rayne is able to punch a few times and keep the big woman down.

Rayne heads to the top and gets thrown to the side. Kong hits her finisher and picks up the win.

Kong picks up a quick victory. Josh Mathews said it best: Taryn Terrell needs to be on notice. The mismatch in size and power will be something difficult to build around. I think they can do it, but it is going to be tough. They were able to do it with Havok, but Kong is a different breed and will be hard to make it unique. It will simply be size vs. speed. Terrell, the champion, will be an “ultimate” underdog.
