Isenberg Reacts: WWE Raw “The Bar of Success Has Been Raised”

Randy Orton and Ryback vs. Sheamus and Big Show

wwe rawRandy Orton and Sheamus are slugging back and forth with shots to the chest. Sheamus hits a cheap shot to get going offensively. Orton counters and hits some punches to his face. Ryback gets in and hits a few kicks. Sheamus knees him and rings up Ryback on the rope. Big Show comes in stomps Ryback over and over into the mat. Ryback holds up Sheamus for Orton to hit a dropkick. On the outside, he hits a back breaker onto the barricade.

Sheamus drills a knee into his stomach and then fires a few more. Back from break, Sheamus hits more shots to Orton, hitting an Irish Curse. Big Show sits on Orton and then sets up a chokeslam. Orton slides out of it and counters with a DDT. Hot tags happen and Ryback unloads on Sheamus. He hits a big splash and then hits him in the corner. Ryback connects with a spinesbuster and sets up a clothesline. Miz distracts him and Ryback is able to hit a clothesline to Sheamus. Miz continues to yell and Ryback gets a KO Punch from Show. Orton hits an RKO onto Sheamus and Ryback is up top with a splash for the win.

A really good tag team match to kick off Raw and momentum is built for Ryback/Miz/Big Show, as well as Orton vs. Sheamus. I thought the action was very consistent, fast-paced and smooth. The Miz did just enough to keep his name involved, but I thought Ryback looked great in the ring. He continues to evolve and progress in the ring, adding more athletic moves into his offense.

Divas Division Gets Shaken Up

Bellas and Alicia Fox come out and talk about dominating the Divas Division. Stephanie McMahon comes out and say that the women are taking over. Paige comes out and then Becky Lynch makes her way down the ring. Stephanie says they are still outnumbered and then introduces Charlotte.

Naomi and Tamina make their way to the ring. Naomi says they are all the competition they need. Stephanie says they should be out here and taking their place. Stephanie McMahon introduces Sasha Banks and she makes her way down to the ring.

I was surprised to see three new Divas make their debut. I think it is the right call, especially since NXT has completely dominated women’s wrestling in the past 6-12 months. I love this and I love the fact that they shook things up tonight rather than wait until SummerSlam. Mark Madden knew it. I knew it. Everybody knew that this needed to happen. Who will step up and become the best? Every Divas now has the opportunity. This was an excellent segment that needed plenty of time and plenty of time is what they got. The submission moves were a fun sight to see.
