Isenberg Reacts: WWE Raw “They Need A Superstar, Not A Wrestler”

Tag Team Turmoil

wwe rawThe most entertaining group on television, The New Day, come out to the Nashville crowd and talk about country music. They begin to sing and constantly make fun of Nashville. This prompted them to have an open challenge, looked to be answered by Lucha Dragons. The Uso’s make their way out and want in as well. Lucha Dragons say they want to make it a Triple Threat Match, but New Day calls it off. They get beaten up by both teams as they retreat.

I liked the segment and thought it provided some characteristics that we have not seen from Kalisto and Sin Cara. They spoke, which means a lot when trying to get a team over. Uso’s are still red hot and the fans love them. They provide so much entertainment and a natural charisma that cannot be denied. So, what happens next?

I think you need a Ladder Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships at TLC. Triple Threat with all of these excellent athletes that could reminisce a familiar scene for titles that are slowly starting to get more attention. Like I have said over and over again, depth in the tag team division is critical for a gimmick like New Day to continue to work.

Mark Henry loses to Neville

In the weirdest part of the night, Neville and Mark Henry do battle. In less than 5 minutes, Neville hits a Red Arrow and picks up the win. But, it looked like Mark Henry kicked out of it? It was really strange and the pairing of both men makes absolutely no sense to me. If you want Neville to get over, why would  you pair him with a guy 200 pounds heavier and someone who seems to be used to take random losses every few weeks?

Honestly, I would not mind Neville being one guy who targets the Intercontinental Championship against Kevin Owens. He does not need to win, but it can provide 4-6 weeks of entertaining television while giving creative some time to figure out who Owens faces at Royal Rumble and WrestleMania.
