Isenberg Reacts: WWE Money in the Bank “Dean Ambrose Should Not Be Champion”

New Day or New Era?

The New Day retained the WWE Tag Team Championships to kick off Money in the Bank. I enjoyed the action in this match, even though there were a few botches. Kofi and Enzo were a half second off for a move, but I do think the rest of the action made up for it. I was surprised to see The New Day win again, putting aside how popular Enzo and Cass are and how much The Vaudevillians need something important. Gallows and Anderson, even though it would have been a great call to show their dominance by winning championships, would make an impact later in the night. You assumed this would happen. All things aside, should The New Day be more protected right now over the two young teams?

I really like The New Day, but if they continue to win and not overcome any adversity, I can see the fans getting sick of them winning. Have them drop the titles sooner rather than later, establishing another team on their level and really begin to build depth in the division. Good depth and not just random tag teams that should not be on the main card to begin with.

Trying out New Faces

So, Apollo Crews and Baron Corbin pick up wins against WWE veterans Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler. Not that I disagree with it, but what are these feuds about? New vs. Old? Okay, I understand that concept, but does it really make the fans invested in Crews and Corbin when it seems like they need to have their hand held the entire match. Crews can go, but nobody cared abnout this match. Corbin is a born heel, but nobody cared about his third match with Dolph Ziggler. I will say I was more impressed with Crews because of his athleticism and strength on a guy like Sheamus. This could benefit Crews, but it is all about a vocal connection to the crowd. That is so crucial right now.

Are we just going to see guys like Ziggler, Sheamus, Del Rio and others be used to help the New Era get over? It sure looks that way, but I am not sure if that is the right call ALL THE TIME.

Currently, Josh Isenberg works for Major League Baseball in their Advanced Media Productions. He grew up in Pittsburgh and went to Point Park University, which is where Chair Shot Reality is filmed each week.

His life outside of his obsession with wrestling include being a savant for Seinfeld, NFL, NBA, MLB and many television shows. He also has an undying love for musicals, which includes many shows he was a part of in high school. Some of his favorite wrestling moments can be linked to such superstars as Edge, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and The Great Khali.
