Isenberg Reacts: Previewing WWE NXT Takeover Brooklyn II

Samoa Joe vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

The battle of two incredible strong, hard-hitting and unique men come to a head at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II. A sensation versus a superstar. Shinsuke Nakamura has the world watching his every move and what better guy that Samoa Joe to face. Joe is a great heel, one that knows he will be hated, yet respected. Samoa Joe has been NXT Champion for long enough and now is the right time for Nakamura to take the reins on a brand that has his name and face written all over it.

I expect 25 minutes to be carved out for this match, with both men shining on a large stage. Last year was stolen by Sasha and Bayley, but I guarantee everyone will be talking about this match on Sunday. My pattern for NXT would be something like this: have Shinsuke become champion on Saturday and then have a nice two month period where he and Joe battle back and forth. I do not expect Joe to take the title, but he can continue to be the guy that threatens Shinsuke’s reign. I want to see Samoa Joe and Nakamura take their match to the outside, but focus on the psychology that each man possesses in the ring. We know how they can tell a story by a simple move or a simple gesture.

High drama and an intrigue on how this match is scripted will ultimately tell us if both of these men will translate well on Raw or Smackdown in 2017. Their future is now and their opportunity to steal the weekend is theirs for the taking.

Currently, Josh Isenberg works for Major League Baseball in their Advanced Media Productions. He grew up in Pittsburgh and went to Point Park University, which is where Chair Shot Reality is filmed each week.

His life outside of his obsession with wrestling include being a savant for Seinfeld, NFL, NBA, MLB and many television shows. He also has an undying love for musicals, which includes many shows he was a part of in high school. Some of his favorite wrestling moments can be linked to such superstars as Edge, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and The Great Khali.
