Isenberg Reacts: WWE NXT “Top Guys and Nakamura Carry Wednesday Night”

Tye Dillinger vs. Buddy Murphy

Buddy Murphy focus on a slower and more technical game, with a chin lock. Tye follows up with some forearm shots and then Dillinger applies a wrist lock and then cartwheels in the ring. Murphy throws Tye to the mat and then hits an elbow drop. Both men exchange chops to the chest and Tye is thrown over the top rope. Buddy Murphy hits double knees to the face from the top, but Dillinger kicks out at two. Murphy hits some punches and Murphy continues the assault.

Tye is able to toss Murphy to the outside, but he hangs on the apron. Dillinger hits two clotheslines and a back body drop. He stomps a mud hole and then lowers the knee pad. He turns him inside out with a clothesline and then hits the Tye Breaker for the win.

Another win and another solid contest from Tye Dillinger. Buddy Murphy showed some nice single action, with a nice flying double knees. His issue is nobody really knows what his gimmick is. From tag team champion to a very generic gimmick, Murphy needs to identify why people can connect with him.

Tye has a polished gimmick and a nice plan of attack in the ring. About ten minutes of action and a good win for Dillinger back at Full Sail University.

Top Guys Strike

With Johnny Gargano out with a leg injury, Tomasso Ciampa begins to talk about his teammate. The Revival stand behind him and a brawl breaks out. Both men takes Tomasso and they spill into the arena. They throw him across the announce table and then kick him around in the ring. Dawson talks about reality and calls The Revival the top guys in NXT. He says they were hit with a reality check. Tomasso comes back into the ring only to get hit with their finisher.

You have to love how good these two men are at being heels. I love their gimmick and loved this attack. You eliminate one of the two guys and then focus on his partner. This makes everyone want to see another championship match and will have everyone anticipate Johnny Gargano’s imminent return to NXT. This has a really natural and intense feeling to it.
