Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch Face Off
Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch sign their contract for No Mercy and the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Alexa talks about how Becky was not born to be a champion and she was, how Becky’s job in life is to succeed only to fail miserably soon after. Becky looks hurt, but then fires back saying she fought to become a champion and nothing was given to her. She says she wanted it badly and worked to get to where she is. Alexa throws the binder in her face after signing it and turns over the table. She walks out and Lynch gets her hands on her for a brief moment.
I am very excited to see Alexa and Becky work a feud for the next 1-2 months because I think their personalities are so different where the story will come naturally. Alexa plays her gimmick so well, almost to a point where you cannot stand to see her on your screen. That is the point of a heel, right? Becky is lovable, great to look at and continues to showcase why she is the first Smackdown Women’s Champion. This was just enough action and promo from both women tonight to make it intriguing. It is new blood and new faces to get behind and root for. Both women are given a great chance to kick off Smackdown and their Women’s division with a bang. Tonight was solid, logical and simple.
Tag Team Action
Carmella and Natalya vs. Nikki Bella and Naomi did not get going. A quick bell stopped the match when Carmella dragged Nikki out and beat her on the outside. Naomi hit a big kick onto Natalya and helped Nikki out from the attack. Carmella begins to yell at Nikki and backs away.I like the idea of Carmella continuing to get the upper hand on Nikki, but she needs to explain in the ring why she is doing this. What is her motive? What is her end game? With Nikki, you can pick many reasons why, but the crowd just sees this as continued attacks without explanation. Make it universally known, not from a pre-show or from a backstage segment. Get Carmella in front of the crowd to state her case.
