A Trap on Enzo

It started with an “argument” between Lana and Rusev, where Enzo got involved and told him he should not talk to a woman like that. Rusev left and Lana exchanged numbers with Enzo. Enzo Amore would later find a selfie taken by Lana, along with her hotel room number. Rusev and Big Cass got heated backstage and a match was booked for them tonight. As this was happening, Enzo Amore took Ric Flair’s limo and headed to the hotel. When he arrived, the night of seduction began. He tried to leave, but ended up in his boxers. He turns around and Rusev appears in the hotel, even though he was supposed to be in the ring against Cass. He destroys Enzo, leaving him lifeless on the hotel floor outside of their room.

Edgy and a very attitude type feel from these segments spread out through the night. I really enjoyed it because it kept you wanting to see more, see what would happen next. I like how they are letting Rusev work with two of the most over guys in a relatively slow period in December. This is a nice filler until Royal Rumble, where Rusev will go in many not the favorite, but definitely a dark horse to come out on top. No United States Championship on Rusev is letting him develop in more than just an Anti-American. I am all for this feud and think it can bring out a lot in all competitors.

Seth Rollins vs. The Big Show/ Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens

WWE wants to keep Seth Rollins in everyone’s mind when chasing the WWE Universal Championship. To kick things off, Seth said he wanted Triple H, but has to go through Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens first. Kevin Owens brought out Seth’s opponent for tonight, a returning Big Show. Big Show looked in great shape and worked a decent bout with Rollins. As KO was barking orders, Big Show turned and chokeslammed him. He would be counted out and Seth Rollins hit a Pedigree on the champion.

Later in the night, Kevin Owens took on Sami Zayn in a fun and exciting match. It would end with Kevin Owens surprising Sami Zayn with a pop-up powerbomb.

To break down the night, I think WWE wants us to remember about Triple H because the Royal Rumble is right around the corner. Will he and Seth do battle then? I am not sure what they are thinking. Seth and Triple H warrants a WrestleMania match, but there is also the championship hanging around multiple mens’ heads. Either way, that match will be great. How they get there will be a telling story. Speaking of tonight, WWE RAW feels like they are trying to have 3-4 guys really involved in the championship chase.

With Roman Reigns as US Champion, Chris Jericho as Kevin’s former friend, Seth Rollins still lurking and a returning Triple H, your guess is as good as mine. They could really go off the walls and make it a Fatal Four Way somehow, especially with Triple H still having his rematch clause in hand. Do not forget that.
