Isenberg Reacts: WWE Smackdown Live “Why Heel Ziggler Works and Miz’s Next Move”

Becky Lynch defeated La Luchadora

Becky Lynch took on La Luchadora on Smackdown Live. As Becky controlled most of the match. La Luchadora went under the ring and another one appeared. She attacked Lynch and then hit a DDT. She went up top but missed a splash, while allowed Lynch to lock in her armbar for the win. After the match, the mask is ripped off to reveal Alexa Bliss. Another Luchadora attacks Becky and both women stand tall.

Another night of the masked woman and another reminder that Becky Lynch is still the best on Smackdown. I like Alexa a lot, I really do, but this storyline is somewhat annoying to me. Instead of focusing on the two talented women, the fans are only interested in seeing who the masked woman is. If it is not an already established woman that the fans know, what is the point of hiding her face?

American Alpha Squashes The Fashion Police

A match that lasted only about a minute was more about Smackdown Live showing off their new tag team champions. The Wyatt Family cut a promo and will get their rematch next week, with Randy Orton being the one that yelled “run.” It looked as if Luke Harper was upset about this, which is an underlying detail to watch out for. Will WWE want to move forward with a Randy Orton vs. Luke Harper feud? How does Bray Wyatt fit into this?

With all of this being said, American Alpha needs a team to feud with immediately. My solution would be The Revival, as their history and background will work on Smackdown Live. I do not want to see AA get wasted and think they could easily be passed up on based on what happened tonight. Also, a video package or something spotlighting their championship win would have done much better than this ridiculous match. Not EVERY SINGLE storyline each week needs to be in a match or in-ring segment.
