While Chris Jericho’s Rock N’ Wrestling Rager kicks off its 4 day voyage starting tomorrow, the trip won’t get underway without some controversy courtesy of the WWE.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the WWE tried to prevent Rey Mysterio from making the voyage, despite being previously scheduled for months in advance.

The following is excerpted from The Observer, “Even though he told them of it as a pre-existing commitment and he would not wrestle on it, just be a guest, WWE was trying to keep Mysterio from going on the Jericho Cruise this weekend. He’s not booked for WWE this weekend.”

Jericho took to his Talk Is Jericho podcast and briefly addressed Rey Mysterio’s appearance:

“He’s going to be on the cruise. He re-signed with WWE, but one of the caveats was that this was one of his dates, which I am sure Vince [McMahon] is thrilled about.”
