Bobby Lashley Calls WWE Title Win The ‘Light At The End Of The Tunnel’

Bobby Lashley’s time is now.

The new WWE Champion recently appeared on WWE After The Bell with Corey Graves and reflected on his historic championship victory. He reflected on his challenging journey to this past Monday night, which ended with Lashley standing tall as the champion.

“You know, when you’re working, you always think there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, and sometimes you forget that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel while you’re just drudging away, and last night it happened,” said Lashley. “I rose my hand out there in the ring, and it just kind of hit me.”

Now that he’s a world champion, business is booming for “The Almight.” But Lashley didn’t shy away from the fact that he has been involved in some questionable storylines since he returned to WWE. At times, his controversial programs with Sami Zayn and Lana made fans doubt whether he’d ever reach the main event level. “The Almighty” stated that he doesn’t take himself too seriously, so he just keeps himself prepared for any opportunities that come his way.

“I came back [to WWE] and I was like you know what, there’s nothing that they can make me do on TV that I’m gonna hate,” said Lashley. “I’m a character on TV. I can’t fault you for laughing at me for the things that I did because it’s comical. So I don’t take myself seriously, man.

“At that point, the one thing that I can control is my appearance, being in shape, being ready for whatever they throw at me, and that’s what I wanna do and that’s what I’ve been doing.”

Lashley’s approach has paid off, as he persevered through a challenging period and emerged as the WWE Champion.
