AEW World Champion Kenny Omega To Face Orange Cassidy And PAC At Double Or Nothing

In a battle between two former rivals, Orange Cassidy faced PAC Wednesday night on AEW Dynamite. Beyond the renewed hostilities, the match carried plenty of signifiance, as the winner would earn an AEW World Championship match at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view. As it turned out, both men will have Kenny Omega at the show.

“Freshly Squeezed” took the fight to PAC right away and caught him by surpise. Using his unusual offensive style, Cassidy controlled the early portion of the match and managed to keep his sunglasses on all the while. But “The Bastard” rallied and used his punishing strikes to gain the upper hand.

With a flurry of offense, “The Bastard” swung the momentum his way. Though Cassidy casually rolled out of the way to avoid the Black Arrow to set up his own rally, PAC squashed it with a nasty superkick. Cassidy’s antics continued to aggravate PAC, but an emphatic powerbomb nearly put the fan-favorite star away.

During the match, Don Callis came to the stage and scalded PAC for failing to put Cassidy away. The distraction allowed the AEW World Champion to sneak into the ring and blast “The Bastard” with the title. The blow put PAC down, and Cassidy failed to get back to his feet, so the referee had to count to ten. Both men failed to stand up, so the match was ruled a no contest.

Omega bragged about the outcome, but Tony Schiavone told the champion that he will have to face both Cassidy and PAC at AEW Double or Nothing.
