WWE RAW Tag Team Championship Announced For 9/13 WWE RAW

This week’s episode of WWE RAW featured a lengthy tag team turmoil match that would determine the next contenders to the WWE RAW Tag Team Championship. In a chaotic conclusion to the night, WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and MVP emerged victorious, so they will get to face RK-Bro in a title match next Monday.

The long match started earlier in the show, with New Day managing to eliminate several talented tag team duos, including the Viking Raiders, Jinder Mahal & Veer, Lucha House Party, and Extinction (Mace and T-Bar.) But Mace and T-Bar got eliminated, they lost their temper and began assaulting both New Day and the next team in line for the gauntlet match, Mansoor and Mustafa Ali.

Things got so bad both in and out of the ring that WWE officials, security guards, and even Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville had to come down to break it up, with Deville noting that the match would resume later in the show to allow both teams to recover somewhat. When the bout finally kicked off again, New Day promptly eliminated Mansoor & Mustafa Ali, as Xavier Woods hit a Limit Breaker on Ali for the three count. The next team in was AJ Styles & Omos, who once again got the better of New Day thanks to Omos’ sheer size, as he dropped Kingston before Styles hit the Styles Clash to finally eliminate the fan-favorite duo.

Finally, it was down to just Styles & Omos and Bobby Lashley & MVP. While Styles and his gigantic partner were able to hold their own, it was only a matter of time before Lashley got the upper hand.

The hard-fought bout came to a close when Lashley hit Styles with a vicious Spear, granting The Hurt Business another shot at the titles they were unable to claim late last month.

Following the win, an angry Omos dropped Lashley with a chokeslam before Randy Orton slid into the ring and delivered a surprise RKO to the WWE Champion to close the show. Now, RK-Bro will have to defend their titles against their newly found rivals on next week’s episode of WWE RAW. For Orton, this bout will be a chance to get in the ring with Lashley, the man he’ll challenge for the WWE Championship in a singles match at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
